Contract Killers (2008)

Jane thought she was done with her past as a killer for the CIA. A big mistake. Trapped, accused of her husband’s murder, she must escape from the police and the FBI, but also try to prove her innocence while dismantling the cogs of a gigantic conspiracy in which she now plays the role of the grain of sand.

Now in possession of an encrypted file, damning evidence against her former superiors, Jane must flee American territory and head for the island of Trinidad, where the hunt continues…

Frida Farrell, the lead actress, is a Swedish theatre and film actress, film producer and former model. She is very well suited to the role. The actors do their job in this film, but Frida does a bit more. But despite everything, this hitman film is still a colossal bore.

In fact, it has the air of a TV movie, a B series and doesn’t really bring anything to the cinema. Frida seems to be used to this kind of film, unfortunately. But she deserves better. Has she already got too much work to do as a mother?

False suspense, because nothing much happens in the end. During the last scene, I said to myself “all that for this? All for nothing, basically!”

A joke in poor taste. But I’m an open-minded person. Haters are bound to say things like: “It’s like a bad American TV film with cheap actors, shitty dialogue, broken-arm action scenes, laugh-out-loud bad. In short, a piece of rubbish! And again: here I’m taking the trouble to imitate them as if they were cultured and had the time to write well! 😉

What’s quite shocking is that I read on one of the film’s jackets that it was compared to Nikita! I hope that’s a joke! This film is mediocre, a far cry from Nikita (1990) and even its remake Point of No Return (1993).

Not much to add! I’m quick to talk about this kind of film, even though I’m not crazy about action films. If a thriller is an action film without means, for me, an action film is a thriller without imagination.

Rating: 2 out of 5.
