A spectacular film with a big budget and breathtaking special effects. Not the kind of film you watch for realism, that’s for sure!
I’m a mega fan of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and I thought I was going to be disappointed.
But I almost wasn’t!
When I saw Megan Fox, I thought to myself that we were going to be dealing with the prettiest April ever, but that they hadn’t chosen the best actress. And in the end, she fits the role quite well. It even made me feel better about her!
A few changes in the story again: this time, the turtles actually belonged to April before their metamorphosis and Splinter was just a real rat, not an adversary and ex-friend of Shredder. Shredder becomes more and more powerful. He’s almost nothing like the Shredder of the first cartoons, who wasn’t scary at all and was more of a laughable villain, just like Krang, who isn’t even present here. Will he be there in the next one? And will there be mutants other than the turtles and the rat in the next one? I’m looking forward to seeing it, even if the second ones are rarely better than the first.
We’re a long way from the days of Ninja Turtles 2 back in the 90s. The one where they weren’t allowed to use their weapons because it was too violent for our little youngsters.
Times have changed!
Shredder has become increasingly aggressive, sophisticated and violent. Both in video games and in the new cartoons. In short… A very good time. But how far are we going to go? Just for nostalgia’s sake, this film is excellent 😉
Cowabunga !!!
