Ninja Turtles 2 (2016) A second episode as good as the first. Physically, the turtles aren’t the most aesthetically pleasing, but I got used to them. Ninja Turtles 2 (2016) is a sequel that delivers the same energy as its predecessor. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles are iconic characters, and though they may not be conventionally attractive, their charm ultimately shines through.
There’s a lot going on in New York! The Ghostbusters had already saved New York and the whole world! The Turtles are doing the same! And who am I forgetting again? Spider-Man? The Fantastic Four, who are also 4?
And then there are the Real Life Super Heroes, those people who really do dress up like Super Heroes and hunt down the bad guys at night. Yes, yes, exactly like Kick-Ass!
The actors in this film are ultra well chosen and have the charisma to match. Everyone who wasn’t there in the first opus is there this time: Casey Jones, Le Technodrome, Krang, Bebop_and_Rocksteady, Baxter Stockman, and so on.
A film for the fans! Because it seems to me that not everything is understandable for the rest of us.
You have to hang on to know who’s who and what’s what and why! But it could also appeal to fans of big Hollywood productions, fans of action and superhero humour.
There’s no spectacular new battle against Shredder (whose face we see throughout the film, which is a novelty!), but against Krang this time.
Baxter hasn’t turned into a mutant yet, and Krang has said he’ll be back. The door is open for another sequel or sequels. But I doubt it. Let’s see if it still works!
As far as I’m concerned, I even like the new 3D cartoons. That’s saying something! I just didn’t know about the Turtles comics.
I don’t need to tell you how happy I am when I see Laura Linney in a film. Megan Fox, who I don’t adore, also did very well in these two films (the first and this one).
Nothing to add, except that I understand those who didn’t like it. They can’t understand it.
As far as I’m concerned, nostalgia’s got me! At least here…
