Rose Glass is going to be a director I’m going to blacklist.

This film is really bad. I could feel it from the start. Alas, I always watch it to the end. But I wasted my time, as I stopped it several times because it bored me so much.

I wouldn’t go so far as to say that Kristen Stewart will never be an actress or a real actress… but let’s face it, she’s still in a very bad film. My favourites are Panic Room (2002), The Runaways (2010) and Charlie’s Angels (2019). To each his own!

Katy O’Brian made no impression on me in Twisters (2024). I hope she makes better film choices in the future.

Dave Franco is despicable here. But, at the same time, we don’t see that much of him. It’s as if it costs him a lot to be detestable for an entire film, when he’s often adorable with his devastating smile. Here, he played a role that was more suited to his brother James Franco!

Jena Malone is not one of my favourite actresses, and this film isn’t going to change my mind. Nevertheless, I’m happy when I see her, but I’ve never said to myself that I should take on her whole filmography.

Ed Harris, like Dave, has an unlikely haircut here. It’s nice to see that this actor is still around, still active… although this won’t be the most enjoyable role of his career. What’s more, he’s a notch below his best.

In fact, the actors aren’t bad, but it’s the characters who are completely disgusting. As a result, it’s hard to follow them for more than an hour and a half.

Often bad, sometimes pathetic, often dismaying, and the ending is a model of stupidity. Cartoonish and despairing for the homosexual cause!

If you were expecting a sort of Thelma and Louise (a great Ridley Scott film), updated a little, even a little cheeky, this film is the exact opposite. It’s as bad as Thelma and Louise is good!

It’s a whodunit with no suspense!

The director has a strange taste for dirty shot sequences and weird sounds that linger on the foreground. Kristen is introduced with a particularly obscene cleaning scene. YES, this film is very embarrassing!

It’s very badly written, it’s very vulgar and silly and the soundtrack is heavy-handed. But the photography is beautiful and you’re fooled for a while. Before you realise that it’s a complete disaster!

An advert for body-building? No, not even that! If anything, it’s disgusting!

Did you hear any 80s music in the trailer? At no point in the film does that music appear!

A monument to bad taste, halfway between gore and the horror-comedy genre. Subtle fans beware! Toilets unclogged by hand, geysers of haemoglobin, body-builder-killer on steroids, in short… it’s all vomitous and heavy-handed comedy.

I can’t understand the positive reviews. Anything more lame than this film seems to be an achievement. The situations are ridiculous, the script grotesque, everything rings false. A film that claims to be feminist but with too many excesses!

Sometimes there are hints of Tarantino, sometimes of Lynch (even though it’s a long, long way from that!), and bits of the Hulk.

It’s ugly and unpleasant. Under the guise of neo-feminism, an apology for self-defence and an indulgence in violence worse than a revenge film. On paper, everything was there for Love Lies Bleeding to be one of the films of the year. But, unfortunately, what a disappointment! Skip it!!!
