“Le Livre du Voyage” by Bernard Werber (1997) Is a french book that could be translated as “The Travel Book” or “The Book Of Travel.”
This is a book that speaks to us. Yes, it speaks directly to us!
- Yes, but… every book is addressed to us!
- No, this is different!
- And how is it different?
Let me explain – When you take this book and turn it over to see what’s written on the back, you’ll read sentences like: “Ah! You’re here at last! I’ve been waiting so long for you. I was afraid you wouldn’t notice me!” And if this intrigues you enough to buy this Book of the Journey, it will keep talking to you. And you’ll read incredible sentences like: “Your fingers are tickling me right now! If you absolutely must do the dishes, do them and then read to me. Or leave it, it’ll wait! Don’t play any music, I’ll create the music in your head…”. And so on!
Basically, ‘Le Livre du voyage’ uses some of the codes of the game-book (a story in which you are the hero). And off you go on one of the most beautiful journeys. In any case, one of the most wonderful for me, who hasn’t travelled much physically. Instead, I’ve travelled through books.
In this little masterpiece, Bernard Werber makes full use of your imagination. Sometimes you’ll find it completely magical. Sometimes, there will be passages that seem a little ridiculous… but on reflection, it’s never devoid of meaning.
You don’t have to be allergic to therapies to read this book, nor do you have to be immune to introspective advice. After all, you’ll go through an enormous number of stages in these pages. You’ll think about your best friends, your worst enemies, but you’ll also create new memories.
In short! I’ve read this book twice. And I know I’ll read it again. I just don’t know how many times yet. Each time, depending on the stages of your own life or how you evolve, you’ll see other images in your head.
So I don’t know if there are other books like it… but someone had to create this concept. And who better to concoct such a journey, including a spiritual one, than Bernard Werber.
