French title is “37 : l’ombre et la proie (2024)”

I had the choice between watching an exorcism movie, a vampire movie, or this one. For some reason, I chose this one. But as soon as it started, I spontaneously and automatically thought, “Oh no! A French movie!!!” Yes, sorry, I can’t help it. And yet…

…here is finally a French movie with substance and style! No, I’m kidding!!!

It’s really too unbelievable to believe, and yet I wanted to, I did my best to enjoy it… but nothing holds up in this far-fetched script and story. What a shame!

A pregnant Migrant who smokes takes revenge on truck drivers who smuggle Migrants!

Relatively worthless. I can easily understand why people fell asleep. It’s not far off French sitcoms. And someone will have to explain to me where the tension is in this film… because mine was really at an all-time low! To think that people commented that the suspense was there from beginning to end. They must not watch many films or be used to this genre.

It’s not even a movie I would throw in the trash, because that would fill it up unnecessarily. No, but at some point, you have to stop. Apart from the actor, who is pretty good, nothing works in this movie. It’s uninteresting, doesn’t hold up, doesn’t make sense. The driver has time to escape several times. In fact, I’ve always wondered if filmmakers, directors, producers, etc., deliberately create characters that lack logic, wit, and intelligence. There are countless times when he could have grabbed his gun, punched him in the face, and TAKEN ACTION. But… no! Mr. St-Vincent is one of those overly nice people of the worst kind: the ones who let themselves be walked all over.

I hope one day to see talented films again that make you think and work your brain a little more instead of softening it.

Rating: 1.5 out of 5.
