Hunters Moon (2020)

I went through a phase where I watched all of Katrina Bowden’s films.
But some of them are really bad. And this one is one of them!

There’s a lot to say about this terrible film.
Here we go:

An excellent start!
The first twenty minutes are brilliant.
After that, it’s all downhill.

It descends into everything that’s worst about B movies and Z movies, the film becomes long and slow, and the actors’ performances get worse and worse. What’s more, they are extremely poorly directed in this badly made film.

I really wondered, ‘What are Thomas Jane and Jay Mohr doing here???’

Jay disappears quickly, just after those first 20 minutes, but Thomas arrives after 43 minutes. And I thought to myself that things were going to get better again. But that wasn’t the case. As for Katrina, she proves once again that she is a good actress… but also that she doesn’t know how to choose her films anymore.

So I wondered if there was going to be an incredible ending that would save everything. And the worst part is that this great ending actually happened… but after thinking about it carefully, I quickly realised that, unfortunately, it didn’t make sense. There were too many inconsistencies for this ending to be perfect. In fact, when you watch this film again, you’ll see all the additional flaws that you didn’t notice the first time around. That says it all!

Yes, you can’t just make a Sixth Sense-style ending because you feel like it.

A film to throw in the bin if you bought it by mistake or received it from someone who wishes you ill!

Rating: 1 out of 5.
