Well…it missed out on being a masterpiece! The image is good, the monster is well done and I really liked it. It’s terrifying and adds another Alien-style creature to the mix.
Unfortunately, the film is full of longueurs. And the suspense isn’t that great.
I pretty much agree with this review: “Finally, a real monster film. Simplistic? No, simple… but nevertheless very effective. And monsters are becoming rare…”, but I liked it a little less than he did. There are some scenes that are a bit pointless, the ambulance takes forever to arrive, and the actors aren’t that exceptional. But the film combines horror, thriller and emotion… and that’s not too bad. There are some implausible elements, genre conventions… all apparently made on a shoestring budget.
The final jump scare worked well for me, which is rare.
So yes, I would say it’s a good film, despite everything I didn’t like about it.
