Shark Terror (2025)

After falling overboard during a cruise, a young woman washes up on the shore – injured, stranded and hunted by sharks – whilst her desperate mother sets out to find her.

Despite all the good things about this film, it’s not a good film! It’s not Sharknado, but it’s not much better either. And if it’s not a good film without being a proper flop, it just becomes a film to avoid, alas!

In this film, the sharks are scary, but you can tell there’s a serious lack of budget, given that scenes are replayed several times, as if they thought the viewer wasn’t paying close enough attention to notice. The special effects aren’t great. They’ve separated the scenes with the real sharks from the actors. Actors who have charisma, but aren’t necessarily all very good. Some disappear too quickly, whereas I would have liked their roles to be a bit longer. And the others don’t seem too shocked to see people being eaten by these wild creatures of the ocean.

Sarah Lieving is a regular, having also appeared in Supershark (2011), which is clearly a proper B-movie! Lieving has apparently only starred in B-movies, horror films or obscure films that never made it big. To each their own career, destiny and choices! That said, she’s seen as a goddess by her fans. It takes a certain something!

In fact, she’s in The Vortex (2012), which is a film packed with insects and giant creatures (hornets, spiders, scorpions, etc.). I’d love to see a film like that without it being a B-movie or a Z-movie.

As for the actress playing her daughter, Carly Medina, she isn’t bad, but we’d need to see her in other films.

As for the men, Michael Paré doesn’t have a big enough role to make an impression. Yet connoisseurs know that this model, singer, film producer and actor has been active since 1981!

The plot is tense at the start, but it quickly runs out of steam. There are one or two spectacular scenes during the rising tide, and those will no doubt stick in my mind, but there should have been more.

Another fairly short film that felt relatively long to me.

And as usual, the covers of these films have nothing to do with the scenes in the film. They’re always much better!

If you absolutely must show this film to someone, because it’s a matter of life and death, tell them it’s a film that blends Action, Adventure, Horror, Mystery and Thriller. Otherwise, you can simply give it a miss!

Rating: 2 out of 5.
