Starring Clayne Crawford, Lyndon Smith, Britney Young
Synopsis: The police chief of a small town sets out to track down a serial killer, aided by a psychic with special abilities.
The intro is pretty weird. I had to watch it again after the movie ended. That hunter-like figure we see in the forest, from behind, is also featured on the movie poster. Still, I don’t really see the connection to the film.
The opening and closing credits are written in red on black, just like in classic horror movies!
A psychological thriller directed and produced by Robert Enriquez (Cash for Gold). I loved this movie… but the ending really blew me away! I didn’t see it coming at all. Then again, in a serial killer movie, it’s hard to have a happy ending! I felt betrayed, but that’s probably because I was completely blown away. As a result, even the inconsistencies or the slightly ridiculous, annoying moments make sense. And that’s pretty powerful!
At the same time, I’m pretty good at talking enthusiastically about movies that are just run-of-the-mill for most average viewers.
Clayne Crawford is part of the cast. He is married to Sunshine Kiki Brown, with whom he has three children. He is best known for his roles in The Perfect Host (2010) and the series Lethal Weapon (2016). He is very convincing in the role of a high-ranking police officer who seems relatively worn out and often wakes up on his living room floor looking like he has a hangover.
Other cast members in this independent film include the fabulous Lyndon Smith (National Treasure: Edge of History), the hilarious Britney Young (Glow), the unsettling Vincent Washington (Young King), the charismatic Andrew J. West (The Walking Dead), and the likable Adam Hicks (Zeke and Luther). This entire team works very well together.
A feature film that enjoys blurring the lines. Is it schizophrenia? Split personality? A collective manipulation? It’s hard to say too much without giving away the entire plot and spoiling it. I thought I’d easily guessed the ending, but that’s exactly what the director wanted us to believe.
What does the title Stone Creek Killer bring to mind? Probably Cold Creek Manor (2004), right? A film with a stellar cast featuring Stephen Dorff, Sharon Stone, Juliette Lewis, and Dennis Quaid. Just that alone!
“Stone Creek Killer” is a pretty good movie for fans of crime thrillers. However, it’s not a movie for fans of extreme violence, torture porn, or very gory crimes. It’s a movie with a certain class!
