What a shame…
Ahhhh!
Oh Yes, what a shame!
It came within a hair’s breadth of being a good film.
Well… that said, it’s clearly a B-movie… even if the special effects aren’t all that terrible. It’s more the acting that’s the problem for some, though not for everyone. But, indeed, Dominique Swain is (once again) not in a good film and isn’t really convincing here, despite her best efforts. I wrote in another review: ‘Alyssa Milano as a highly talented profiler in Brazen (also 2022!) is about as credible as Dominique Swain as a general. And yet, she’s played this sort of role twice before: General Hauser in Meteor Moon and General Bridget Norris in 4 Horsemen: Apocalypse! That says it all!!!” These films are fine to watch with a big handful of popcorn… and that’s about it!
Lots of inconsistencies. Far too many! Things you don’t see, like gunshots, but you do see the object explode. We were expecting something else – loads of spectacular natural disasters. But we only get the tip of the iceberg.
That said, the moment when you see the Four Horsemen is pretty brilliant and slightly educational.
Worth watching and then binning!
No point in keeping it…
