Mercenaries (2014) We’ve been waiting for The Women Expendables for years! And it has to be said that this film is as close as we’re going to get. We didn’t get Angelina Jolie, Scarlett Johansson, Kate Beckinsale, Milla Jovovich, Katheryn Winnick, Sofia Boutella, Charlize Theron, Gina Carano, Ivanna Sakhno, Pink, Linda Hamilton & Sigourney Weaver. At the same time, if it’s Kelly Marcel directing it… it’s really not going to be very good! She’s actually the one involved in Venom and… 50 Shades of Grey (!!!) to create this project. We didn’t win!

I’m not going to say that this film is excellent.
However, I was hardly bored.
Admittedly, it is long-winded, exaggerated, phoned-in, irrational, incoherent…
But on the whole, I think I knew what I was getting into. I had very low expectations and I got what I wanted. I wouldn’t even mind if they did a second one!
It’s crazy: I never thought I’d be writing this!
Zoe Bell is a wonderful discovery. I’d never heard of her before.
Brigitte Nielsen is perfect in her role and Kristanna Loken is always a pleasure to watch in her muscular roles!

What more could you ask for here?
It’s great fun!

It’s as good as Expendables 2 & 3 and even better than the first and fourth.
At the same time, you have to like this kind of film. Otherwise, it’s not even worth it.

Rating: 4 out of 5.
