Prey (2016) Another European film… that tries to be like the American films, while we always hear that American cinema is not good. It’s crazy !!!

Anyway! This film is rather correct. It’s even almost good! Indeed, the fact that the lion is rather realistic most of the time plays a big role.  However, I don’t believe for a second that he can decimate a whole family without making the slightest noise, as if he was a ninja.

The actors are more or less okay too. The journalist character is really annoying. It’s all the more surprising that the vet ends up in a relationship with him, even though she seems to lead a perfect life. It shows that nobody is perfect, that everybody has their weaknesses.

If it was just them, the film would probably be unbearable.

But the policeman who is nice is a nice character. You can feel that he doesn’t adhere to the cruel and pathetic authority of his boss, who is a big liar and manipulator.

All this said and reviewed, it’s the fifth really important character in the film that raises the level even further, almost saves the film. Yes, perfectly: the English hunter is just an extraordinary character played by a wonderful actor. He manages to hold up a good part of the film with his talent and humour.

A film that takes place in Holland, but that is not only about sex and drugs. And that is also precious! “

Rating: 3 out of 5.
