Primal (2019)

A film reviewer from Germany said, “An exciting film with Cage The composition of the cargo ship is distinctive and makes the film very captivating. The constant danger of man and killer is perceptible at all times. Finally, another great film with Nicolas Cage.”

Yes, because almost the entire film takes place on this boat. And many current films with Cage are far from good!

In the first few minutes, it’s clear that this is going to be another film featuring almost exclusively Nicolas Cage… which is not to his fans’ displeasure.

We also notice that the special effects are rather poor on the ferocious animal side, and it’s easy to see that the jaguar isn’t a real one, and his movements are completely random and unrealistic.

But since I gave this film a chance, without dwelling on these details, I quickly realized that I’d stumbled upon a film where the animals don’t necessarily play the leading roles. Indeed, there are workers on the boat, feds, a major criminal and Nicolas Cage, who plays a hunter, stalker, without too many morals.

Kevin Durand takes on the role of the great dangerous psychopath in this film, and it seems to me that this is not his first try. As for the female lead, it’s Famke Janssen who has bagged it.

This trio of actors doesn’t do too badly, they’re true to themselves for those who know them. That’s all there is to it!

A watchable action movie, with plenty of violence, but not too much blood or unbearable scenes. That’s why I think it’s good entertainment to see once for anyone who watches a lot of movies, taking in a bit of everything. Fans of action or little thought will appreciate it. For those looking for depth, what are you doing here ???

Then, you’ll clearly have to look elsewhere !!!

Rating: 2.5 out of 5.
