Premonition (2007) In French, three films are called “Premonitions,” but only this one should be. The other two are “Solace” and “In Dreams”. How strange!
I didn’t really like this film. “Sandra Bullock” was between two banks in a film with “Keanu Reeves”, interacting and communicating with him in writing, even though they were separated by and in time by two years. The concept wasn’t necessarily easy to understand… but here, it’s even worse!
In this film, she lives two parallel lives at the same time. On odd-numbered days, she experiences a tragedy, and on even-numbered days, she continues her normal life as before. And all this makes the film tiresome.
In any case, it didn’t create the breathless suspense for me that one of the film’s posters said it would.
The concept is nice, but it didn’t convince me. That said, I was happy to see all these actors, even in small roles.
Be it “Peter Stormare”, “Nia Long”, “Julian McMahon”, or “Amber Valletta”. In any case, it’s the leading lady who gives the best performance. Indeed, Sandra Bullock does very well in this film.
The film also answers all the questions it raises, which is not always the case in other films. The ending is touching. But it’s really a movie ending! Because in real life, you don’t necessarily replace one lost thing with another, especially the loss of a loved one.
Here are two reviews from other critics to add to mine:
- “Well! The ending is predictable…There are many films with similar content that are far more exciting!”
- “Exciting – yes. Logical – no. At the end of the film, I’m simply perplexed. Picking up the pieces of a relationship in a week seems a bit improbable. Even the conversation with the father was really a bit over the top. Please watch another film!”
That’s all!
