Ready Or Not (2019)

Ready Or Not (2019), also known as Wedding Nightmare.

Yikes! A manhunt, some humour. A fairly conventional film, it’s not bad, but it’s not great either, it lacks a little something to make it a good film…

Basically, this film goes from serious moments to light-hearted humour… which makes it lose all credibility. From then on, anything can happen and you don’t really care, because you don’t really want to follow the story any more. So that’s how I felt.

Samara Weaving, excellent actress. Totally over the top here. Pleasure to see Andie MacDowell again. It feels like years have gone by. I had already seen her in a film that also had a hell of a lot of violence. And that’s not even mentioning her daughter, Margaret Qualley!

The film descends into disgusting gore… but the over-emphasised black humour makes it rather funny all the same. The actors must have had a good laugh. But alas, we didn’t manage to make a good film. It’s still a long way from being a very good film and a thousand miles from being a masterpiece. Too bad, but too bad!

A must-see for horror slasher-thriller fans on a nice rainy day.
