Shrek Forever After (2010)

Once upon an end – The final chapter
This time… it’s over!
Or so we thought! Because, yes, Shrek 5 will be released in 2026 !!!

Not necessarily seen very good ratings for this animated film, so I’m going to bring this up a bit. Indeed, I hesitate between Very Good and Excellent!

At the end of the day, I think there’s a good chance it’ll be the second worst.

But everything has been covered in these four parts: the various distorted tales, the baby donkeys and dragons, Shrek becoming a man, Shrek in an alternative world…

I already didn’t want to see this latest instalment in the saga, because I don’t generally like stories involving parallel worlds. Here, however, I was completely hooked.
The story is great and not too annoying as I’d feared.

There’s a nice moral about how we often have what we want, but we think we don’t have it, so we keep wanting something else. Like going back to your old life!

A Puss in Boots who becomes a Chubby Cat, who would’ve tought ???

The opening credits are always great.
And the one at the end is full of images from the other films.
So here’s the verdict: I had a really good time and this film is still a lot of fun. The Shrek humour is really good.

Rating: 4 out of 5.
