Collateral Beauty (2016) (per IMDB.com “Retreating from life after a tragedy, a man questions the universe by writing to Love, Time, and Death. Receiving unexpected answers, he begins to see how these things interlock and how even loss can reveal moments of meaning and beauty.”

Know how to see hidden beauty
Yeahhhh !
Will Smith, Kate Winslet, Keira Knightley, Helen Mirren and Edward Norton!
What a treat!
Admittedly, films with impressive casts are very likely to be turnips, but that’s definitely not the case here.

All right, then!
The press has slammed this film. I wonder if those who wrote their reviews actually saw the film?!
It’s maudlin, it’s a choral film, there’s also some well-measured humor…

You can also burst out laughing throughout the film, find it overdone or overplayed. It all depends, of course, on how you feel about the film.

However, you’ll have to leave your logic at the door when it comes to a few things, notably the ending, but isn’t that also the magic of cinema?

Will Smith returns in a role that matches that of the excellent Seven Pounds.

Kate Winslet returns ten years after The Holiday with another Christmas movie. She’s cold here… but she plays cold well too. Not her best role, but she’s unique.

Helen Mirren as adorable as she was detestable in Mrs Tingles!

Edward Norton, great as a womanizer trying to be a good father.
Keira Knightley, irresistible as an actress working on three projects, with her mischievous side, but with a strong conscience.

That’s all there is to it!

I won’t dwell on it. This is one of the good films of 2016.
It touched me.
And there’s so much worse!
