The Skids – Peaceful Times (2019) A time of peace! 😃I’m not sure I know all ten of these songs. What’s certain is that it’s a pleasure to discover the songs, but also to hear these arranged versions. These acoustic versions, enhanced by bowed string instruments such as the violin, are a treat. A must for fans of the band.

Skids always know how to surprise!When they play live, they know how to change their songs and breathe new life into them. Always energetic, always powerful, always fabulous lyrics.

It seems to me that this is the last recording with drummer Mike Baillie (who himself had replaced Thomas Kellichan). The bassist, William Simpson, will remain until 2022 and will not be on the Destination Düsseldorf album (2023). Yes, it’s a big loss for what was left of the band after the tragic death of Stuart Adamson. All that’s left now is the charismatic Richard Jobson, without whom the band wouldn’t exist at all.
