The Babysitter: Killer Queen (2020) Another Horrific Comedy! It’s the sequel to 2017’s. Still from the same director, yes. Judah Lewis is still the lead actor. Nice charisma, but I hope we’ll see him in different roles.
We see Emily Alyn Lind a lot more and Samara Weaving a lot less. The newcomer, Jenna Ortega, is always an actress who brings something extra to the table wherever she goes.
There’s clearly a ‘we’ll take the same actors and recommend them’ aspect. I didn’t know how much, because I took care not to look too much at the film’s poster before watching it. Well… as long as it doesn’t become a trilogy, that’s fine. Because by repeating the gag or making it worse, it’s going to get boring.
At the same time, the sequel makes the end of the first one more believable. The end of this one is nice, interesting and ridiculous all at the same time. The very last scene once again leaves the door open… but we’ll have to do it all again this time!
There are always those slightly unnecessary gory moments for those who don’t like exaggerated bloodshed and just want a good laugh. These moments will also be the only ones appreciated by fans of violence who only laugh when it’s unbearable. It’s a good time, another great romp and another pleasant surprise, against all the odds. It’s not the worst, and it’s not the best. Which is to say, it’s neither better nor worse than the first. They’re very similar.
