Professor Marston & The Wonder Women (2017) I’m hallucinating…but sadly in a bad way!!! Luke Evans, Bella Heathcote (who was already in the really bad ‘The Neon Demon’ and the average ‘Dark Shadows’), Rebecca Hall, all three excellent actors… and what a disappointment!

No !!! I don’t buy this film. If the aim of this film is to show that two actresses are good (in every sense of the word!) just because they kiss in a lot of scenes when they’re supposed to be straight… then it succeeds! In any other case, the film is a failure!!!

Quite simply! I could stop here, but I think that when you want to see a film about the creation of Wonder Woman and the creation of the lie detector, you don’t expect to see all the partying, polyamory, including a fairly long sex scene. Discovering that Wonder Woman was into bondage, sado-masochism and lesbianism is certainly interesting, especially in those years. The fact that she’s still the best-known superheroine is also fantastic.

But it would have been better to make a film about the perversion or lack of open-mindedness of the time (which is still very much there, alas!) and one about the lie detector part and the development of the character without taking so much account of the sexuality of the protagonists. I was expecting so much better… or simply better! The fact that it has so few negative reviews once again astounds me about our times.

Rating: 1 out of 5.
