Labor Day (AKA Last Days of Summer (2013))
A beautiful film
I’m a fan of actress Kate Winslet, who is very well suited to the role of a lonely, betrayed woman and a depressed, fragile mother. Her encounter with an apparent murderer and a delinquent unexpectedly turns into an intense and delicate love story. Two very different souls, both lonely and lost, both looking for love and comfort. A film that keeps you on the edge of your seat right to the end.
It shows the uncertainties of life
Life’s disappointments can be valuable experiences from which the person concerned emerges stronger or, on the contrary, plagued by self-doubt. A mentor who can help you draw the right conclusions at the right time will be invaluable.
Conclusion: J. Reitman has made an unusually quiet film with very little dialogue. Thanks to the intensity of the actors and the story itself, viewers will be hoping for a good outing…..
Josh Brolin is a safe bet. When he or Kate are in a film, there’s a good chance that the film will be at least a little bit good.
There are actors who appear in this film for about 5 minutes each. They each bring a little bit of emotion to the film.
Tobey Maguire & JK Simmons, once again in the same film. But not as Spider-Man and Daily Bugle editor J. Jonah Jameson.
And there’s also Dawson’s lead actor: James Van Der Beek.
As for Gattlin Griffith, he’s a child with intense eyes who plays quite well here.
I had a really good time, full of all kinds of emotions.
This film has been compared to “Boy A”, which is also about getting a second chance in life.
The next film I’ll have to watch? 😉
