It’s good. But…
I don’t necessarily like this kind of film, but this one is pretty good and worth seeing once.
The film starts off exciting… and stays that way until the middle. After that, there’s already something of a partial resolution. It’s a bit of a shame. I certainly had a good time – but more could certainly have been made of this film. In the end, it remains an average thriller – neither very good nor totally bad.
A little more clarity in this film wouldn’t have done anyone any harm.
Nice trio of actors, even if it’s not Rachel Weisz’s or Naomi Watts’s best performance, but it’s good to see them here. At least they’re not just in completely rubbish films.
As for Daniel Craig, almost everything depends on him. So he had better put in a good performance, even if he’s no great shakes either.
We should also mention the very brief appearances by actor Elias Koteas, which are a pleasure.
We can only note them and not really comment on them, as they are so short. It’s nice just because it’s him.
As for Jim Sheridan, seeing this film doesn’t tell me that I absolutely must see all his other films. But it passes and I had a good time.
It’s nothing exceptional, but it’s all right all the same. Much better than all the crap I’ve seen recently.
